Africa Day at Mama Fauzia Children's Home — Recap Past Event

Past Event · Sunday, 24 May 2026 · Mama Fauzia Children's Home, Nairobi

Theme: “Celebrating African Unity through Love, Service & Community.”

This Africa Day, Ubuntu Retold Initiatives chose to celebrate the continent the way Ubuntu teaches us to — together, with the community. We spent the day at Mama Fauzia Children's Home in Nairobi, where love, learning, and laughter filled every moment.

We sat with the children and mentored them, opened conversations about Pan-Africanism — who we are as a continent, the leaders who shaped us, and the future they themselves are building — and taught them about environmental conservation, why our trees, our soil, and our rivers matter. We presented gifts of food, toiletries, and supplies, did face painting, and shared tree seedlings as a small symbol of the future we are planting together.

It was a day of joy, of presence, and of reminding the children of Mama Fauzia that they are seen, loved, and part of a much bigger African story. I am because we are.

💙 Thank you

To everyone who donated food, clothes, toiletries, school supplies and tree seedlings — and to every volunteer who showed up: asanteni sana. You made this day possible. To the staff and children of Mama Fauzia Children's Home — thank you for welcoming us into your home and your hearts.
